Our apprenticeship program is 432 hours of classroom and hands on
training done over 3 years and 4800 hours of on the job training. Class
room hours count towards the 4800 hours of on the job training. Classes
are the entire month of January for a total of 144 hours. The training is in
Decatur, Illinois at The United Union of Roofers, Waterproofers and Allied
Workers Local 92 hall located at 234 W Cerro Gordo Street Decatur IL
62522. Apprentices start class after they have worked on the roof for
1000 hours. Apprentices do not get paid for the class but they do get a
daily allowance of 25 dollars a day. Apprentice will learn OSHA 10 and
OSHA 30 requirements along with Rigging and signaling. They will learn
the most up to date roofing, waterproofing, air barrier, green roof and
steep roof systems being installed in the mid-western United States. All of
our Signatory contractors have a big influence on what is being taught.

Apprentice starting wage is 55% of the journeyperson wage rate receive
wage increases at 480hrs, 1200 hrs, 2400 hrs, 3600 hrs and 4800 hrs
if all classroom and work requirements are met. You also receive employer
paid benefits in the total of $18.84
